See You at the Pole is a global day of student prayer annually on the fourth Wednesday in September. The event, which began in 1990 with just 10 students, is a prayer rally at the flagpole to lift up friends, families, teachers, school and nation to God. It is initiated, organized and led by students. The flags were at half-staff during the event, ordered by Gov. Mike Parson to honor Kansas City Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Brinker, who died after suffering a medical emergency during a training incident on Sept. 16.
