2 incidents on Table Rock lake
Two incidents occurred on back to back days on Table Rock Lake in late July, with one man injured after striking a dock with his boat and another nearly drowning at Eagle Rock Swim Beach.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on July 28 at 12:01 a.m., Donald Brown, 76, of Diamond, was traveling in a 2008 Ranger Bass Boat southbound in Owl Creek near Point 25, three miles west of Golden, when he failed to see a boat dock in the darkness and struck it.
Brown suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Freeman Urgent Care in Joplin. The boat sustained moderate damage.
The following day, at 7:23 p.m., Jose Chavez, 39, of Eureka Springs, Ark., swam to the end of the marked off area at Eagle Rock Swim Beach Point 26 when he went underwater. Bystanders pulled Chavez to shore and started CPR.
Chavez suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Berryville, Ark.
