Community Yard Sale to benefit seniors

A Community Yard Sale is scheduled for Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. at Cassville High School, with proceeds from the event benefitting seniors taking a trip to Europe this summer. The fundraiser will be held at the high school parking lot, with sellers able to rent a space for $40 to sell their own items. People may also drop off donated items for students to sell to help raise funds. To reserve a spot or donate items, people may call Victoria Robertson at 417-389-8265 or Lisa Reid at 417-627-8419.

Crowder Cassville Campus hosting RoughRider Raffle

The Crowder Cassville Campus is hosting a RoughRider Raffle over four days next week, with numerous items available to win. The event will be from April 24-28 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $5 each in the office, and raffle items may be viewed in the lobby. Some items people may win include: gift cards, gift baskets, local team merchandise and more.

Methodist Church hosting women’s retreat

Cassville United Methodist Church will host a women’s retreat at the church at 601 Gravel Street on April 29 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The retreat entitled, “Deeper into the Heart of God: Spiritual Practices for the Beloved,” will feature three virtual sessions presented by Sharon Garlough Brown, as well as provide time for personal reflection and prayer. Sharon is the author of the award-winning Sensible Shoes and Shades of Light series (https:// www.sharongarloughbrown.com). A retreat fee of $25 per person will help offset the speaker fee, as well as the costs of breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Road district sets meeting times

Flat Creek Special Road District will begin meeting on the third Wednesday of every month, beginning May 17 at 5 p.m. The meeting location is 10106 Farm Road 2160 at the Special Road District Barn. Thee meetings are open to the public.

Cassville Branch Library activities scheduled

Activities at the Cassville Branch Library this week include: today, Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m., Yoga with Tara at 5 p.m.; Thursday, movie matinee at 1:30 p.m., Toastmasters at 6 p.m.; Friday, Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m.; Saturday, Teen Anime Club, registration required; Monday (National Library Week Maker Monday), Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m., Cassville Area Friends of the Library meeting at 6 p.m.; Tuesday (National Library Week Take a Walk Monday), free Homeschool Enrichment at 10 a.m., sign-up required, Family Game Night at 5:30 p.m.; April 26 (National Library Week Wacky Wednesday), Crochet with Ashley at 1:30 p.m., Yoga with Tara at 5 p.m.

OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-7706287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 417662-3612.
