BOBBY RAY HAYES

Bobby Ray Hayes, 83, of Cassville, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.

He was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Purdy, the son of O.C. and Rose (Perkins) Hayes. On April 14, 1962, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Kay Nunnallee, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Robert Hayes and his wife Tammy of Purdy, Ernest Hayes of Cassville, and Kevin Hayes of Cassville; one daughter, Glenna Gluckert of Granby; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four sisters, Lucille Hayes, Virginia Hayes, Louise Pryor and Ruby Barnett; three brothers, Red Hayes, Cotton Hayes and Slim Hayes.

He attended school in Purdy, graduating from Purdy High School. He was employed with Contel, GTE and Verizon telephone companies as a lineman and telephone repairman for 28 years from where he retired in 1992. He was a member and attended Gunter Methodist Church. Services were held July 14, at Gunter Methodist Church in Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Rev. Jerry Nickle, Pastor Mike Tharp and Rev. Lee Neill conducted the services. Burial was at Gunter Cemetery in Butterfield.
