Arrest made after wreck near Fairview

A Wheaton woman was injured and a St. Louis man was arrested following a wreck at 4:58 p.m. on Highway 97, east of Route T, two miles west of Fairview.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Peng Sang, 33, of St. Louis, was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2014 Nissan Versa, being driven by Annally Vang, 39, of Wheaton.

Vang suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Peng was not injured.

Both were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.

At 5:26 p.m., Peng was arrested by the Patrol on charges of felony driving while intoxicated with injury. He was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Barry County jail. 

The jail roster lists a bond of $50,000 and charges of DWI with physical injury, driving while suspended or revoked, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and no insurance. The charges have yet to appear on casenet.
