Two people were injured in a wreck on Monday at 2:25 p.m. on Highway 37 at Route B in Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Martha Garcia Romero, 39, of Verona, was driving a 2005 Kia Sorento northbound and was slowing to stop when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2000 Ford F-150, being driven by Daniel Bishop, 38, of Stotts City.

Garcia Romero suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Bishop suffered serious injuries and was transported to Cox Monett Hospital.

Garcia Romero was wearing a safety device, and Bishop was not. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
