District hoops seeds settled
The Cassville boys and girls basketball teams head to the Class 4, District 12 tournaments March 3-8 in Monett, receiving their seeds last week.

The Cassville boys wrestling team made program history on Saturday, qualifying a record eight wrestlers for the Class 2 MSHSAA Wrestling Championships and winning a record three individual Class 2, District 3 titles.
Winchell wrestles up-weight to Class 1 state qualification
A total of 34 teams took part in the Class 1, District 3 girls wrestling tournament in Nevada on Friday and Saturday, and out of the 10 Lady Wildcats competing, one locked in a qualification to the Class 1 State Wrestling Championships Feb. 26-27 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

As of Monday, 5 of the 10 local high school basketball teams now know their district seeds and opponents, with one tournament being played close to home.

Lady Tigers lock down district No. 2 seed
The last district championship for the Exeter girls basketball team came in 2011, and 14 years later — only two season removed from a three-year stretch with a single win — a shot at the Class 1, District 3 title is well within reach.

Eagles hoping for health
With the Class 2, District 11 Tournament at its gym Feb. 24-28, the Purdy boys basketball team has one major focus in the next two weeks — get healthy.

The Cassville boys wrestling team competed in a triad with Bolivar and Logan-Rogersville on Thursday, the final regular- season action before the Class 2, District 3 Tournament Feb. 21-22.


Lady ‘Cats eyeing No. 2 seed
With five games left on the schedule, the Cassville girls basketball team already has the most wins in a season since 2017-2018, and the Lady Wildcats are hoping to ride their success in a successful postseason.
