School Fair comes back to Barry County
For more than two decades, the OACAC Barry County neighborhood center has been hosting a school fair to help children in the area start off the school year on the right foot. Gail Reed, OACAC Barry County neighborhood market supervisor, said the sign-ups for the school fair will be open from May 31 to July 7.

TroutFest on Saturday TroutFest is a community fair celebrating the relationship between the community of Cassville and Roaring River State Park. The fair, held at the Cassville Aquatic Center, kicks off the day at 7 a.m., Saturday with two races, the Trout Trot 5K and the Minnow Mile.
Purdy prepares for summer

Student safety is a top priority at all local school districts, and in the wake of the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, superintendents are refreshing parents and patrons of protocols. Cassville Merlyn Johnson, Cassville superintendent, said the Cassville school district has a well-trained and well-informed staff.
Cassville’s NFIP offer lost in red tape
The city of Cassville had an opportunity over the past year to possibly join the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) without retrofitting buildings or making major changes to Main Street — but the moment has passed.
