‘Cats, Lady ‘Cats compete in Seneca, Monett, Mt. Vernon

The Cassville boys and girls track teams competed in three meets last week, flexing their muscles in Seneca, Monett and Mt. Vernon.

For the boys, highlights include a trio of first-place finishes, two by the same athlete. Logan Parsons took first place in pole vault in Seneca and Mt. Vernon, clearing 4.11 meters and 3.8 meters, respectively. Kamden Beebe also took home a gold, winning the 200-meter dash at the Cub Relays with a time of 23.8 seconds.

On top of a third-place team finish in Seneca, Cassville had three runner-up finishes at the Indians’ meet, as well as three runner-up finishes in Monett and two in Mt. Vernon.

For the girls, Shelby Knoefler was the only first-place finisher, taking top honors in shot put in Seneca with a throw of 9.57 meters. Two other Lady Wildcats took runner-up finishes in Monet and Seneca.
