Edith “Alene” Swadley, 85, of Cassville, Mo. passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Mo.

She was born January 17, 1940, in Cassville, Mo., the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Williams) Sanders, who preceded her in death. 

Also preceding her in death was her grandson, Brandon Drake; brothers, Leon, Dick, Virgil, Donnie and Eldon and two sisters Joreen and Karolyn.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Swadley; her sons, Robert Wolf and wife Sheila of Eagle Rock, Jerry Swadley and wife Casey of Monett and Dwight Swadley of Republic; daughters, Jeanie Shearer and husband Joe of Fairview and Carla Lowe and husband Nathan of Neosho; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters.

She grew up and attended school in Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School in 1957. She was employed by U.S. Shoe, Jumping Jacks and Justin Boot for several years later taking on the responsibilities of bookkeeper and president of A-G Construction, Incorporated, from where she retired. She had lived here her entire life. She was a founding member and was very active in Cassville Cruisers. 

Services are currently pending. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
