Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Lechner

Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Lechner, 84, of Springfield, Mo. passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his home.

He was born October 31, 1941, in Verona, Mo., the son of Ferdi and Gertie (Pilkerton) Lechner, who preceded him in death. 

Also preceding him in death was his wife Lois Carol Coffey, and his sister, Betty A. Creson.

Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Mathewson and her husband David of Springfield, Mo.

He grew up and attended school in Verona, Mo., graduating from Verona High School in 1960. From 1962 until 1964 he drove a mail transport truck in Monett, he then went into the automotive maintenance field working for Blalack Koon Chevrolet in Cassville and later was employed by Friend Tire in Monett, retiring in 2006. After retiring he drove for local car dealerships transporting automobiles. 

He was of the Catholic faith.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Arnhart Cemetery in Purdy, Mo., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Father Bill Hodgson will conduct the services.

Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Verona in memory of Kenny.
