34 booths, 560 students at Career Fair

A total of 34 local businesses, colleges, technical schools and military representatives received 560 students in grades 9-12 at the Cassville High School JAG Career Fair on Oct. 30 at the school’s Performing Arts Center.

JAG students planned and prepared the event as a classwide PBL (Project Based Learning). Students managed all aspects of the event, including:

• Designed marketing materials (flyers, invitations, social media posts)

• Contacted and confirmed vendors

• Created and maintained vendor spreadsheets and communication logs

• Organized table assignments, schedules, and volunteer roles

• Prepared games and conversation activities for student engagement • Developed signage, schedules, and check-in procedures • Practiced professional communication, email etiquette, and phone skills

• Assembled event packets and materials The day of the event, JAG students assisted vendors with setup, greeted guests, served lunch, managed vendor tables, and facilitated student engagement.

The Career Fair helped JAG students gain valuable transferable and employability skills and provided an opportunity for students school-wide to learn about potential career paths by connecting them with potential employers, colleges, and trade schools.

Vendor feedback included:

• Cooper Massey, with Drury GO: I would love to schedule a Drury GO day for your students to visit our campus and have informational sessions such as Financial aid, Scholarships, Life after High school, and even a Mini college class taught by one of our Psychology instructors! Thank you so much for yesterday, that was the most well put together event I have ever attended!

• Kelly Keelan, recruiter with Ozarks Technical Community College: I wanted to reach out and thank you for the opportunity to attend Cassville’s Career Fair. Your fair was extremely organized and well-ran. I appreciate the hospitality and respectfulness of CHS’s students, particularly your JAG students who were running the event. I was very impressed and would love an invitation to come back and speak to your students again about everything Ozarks Tech has to offer them.
