Pass incomplete near line of scrimmage to bring fourth-and-long, line drive punt caught by Bryan and returned to Wildcats’ 36, illegal block on Cassville puts ball at the 28-yard-line. Offside call on Cassville moves it back 5, handoff to Thompson gains 2, pitch to Bryan gets 6 to bring third-and-7, false start takes it back 5 (fourth penalty for 35 total yards so far), pass to Castleberry at the 40 overthrown and Wildcats punt to Patriots 41.

Long East Newton pass bounces off the hands of Freed, nearly intercepted, end-around dropped by Wildcats for loss of 4, another long pass overthrown, penalty on Cassville gives Patriots a first at the Cassville 48. False start takes it back 5 and Patriots take a timeout, handoff gains 1, pass tipped and nearly intercepted by Bredeson and Patriots face third-and-14, long pass complete between two Cassville defenders down to the Cassville 21. Handoff to Bryan gets 1, Stearns fakes the handoff and cuts up the middle for 7, handoff to Thompson just short of the first down to bring fourth-and-short with 3 minutes until halftime, handoff gains first at the 42. Thompson fights for 5, Stearns follows Roark block left and gets out of bounds to Patriots’ 29-yard-line with 3:38 remaining. Roark goes left and makes two miss but crunched by a third at the line, Wildcats take timeout. Beebe catches kickoff at the 5 and returns to Wildcats’ 37-yard-line. Bryan breaks two tackles up the middle for a first at the East Newton 48. Roark goes right for 4, Stearns fakes the handoff and goes up the middle to the 28 for a first down. Bryan goes left and bounces back right for a first at the 13. Thompson goes off left tackle for 8, Bryan takes handoff to the 3 for first-and-goal. Roark takes handoff and pushes just across the goal line. Wildcats take 14-7 lead early in third quarter after 7-play, 63-yard drive.

Patriots return kick to own 28. Handoff goes right for 4, pass incomplete off hands of receiver, third-down handoff goes right for a first at the 41. Snap bobbled and Wildcats tackle for loss of 3, pass right complete for gain of 5 to bring third-and-8, QB goes left and fakes pass then goes right and Wildcats converge to make the tackle and force fourth-and-5, handoff right gains first at Cassville 40-yard-line with 6:10 left in 3Q.
