Dennis Lee Howard, 87, of Shell Knob, Mo. passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Cassville in Cassville, Mo.

He was born in Stigler, Okla. on March 16, 1936, the son of Harold and Nellie (Stout) Howard, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Betty L. Carroll; two brothers, Keith and Dwayne; one step-brother, Wally; two sisters, Connye and Juanita and two step-sisters, Jean and Vonetta.

Survivors include two daughters, Vinell Howard of Shell Knob, Mo., and Regina Dodd and her husband Michael of Shell Knob, Mo.; one stepsister, Sophina Dunn and her husband Dean of Forsythe, Mo.; one grandson, Shayne Howard and his wife Amanda of Wichita, Kan. and eight great-grandchildren.

He grew up and attended school in Stigler, Okla. graduating from Stigler High School. He served in the United States Army. After returning home he was employed by Graves/ANR Trucking in Wichita, Kan. as a truck driver for 34 years from where he retired in 1995.

Services were held Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at First Christian Church in Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Mitch Sayler and Pastor L. B. Howard conducted the services. Burial will be at Lake Park Memorial Gardens in Shell Knob, Mo.
