Penelope Edwina “Penny” Brown, 68, of Exeter, Mo. passed away Monday, July 20, 2026 at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Mo.

She was born August 28, 1957 in Green County, Mo., the daughter of Edwin and Auda (Grisham) Johnson, who preceded her in death. 

Also preceding her in death were her son, Russell Johnson, and brothers, Sam Johnson, Charles Johnson, and Max Johnson.

Survivors include her sons, Steven Johnson of Exeter, Mo., Israel Brown of Exeter, Mo., Emanuel Brown of Diller, Neb., and Anthony Brown of Exeter, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She attended school in Galena, Mo., and graduated from Galena High School. She was a devoted homemaker and had made her home in Exeter for the past 30 years.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
