Alvah Elzie Cassity

Alvah Elzie Cassity, 82, of Purdy, Mo., passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2026.

Born on July 13, 1944, in Klamath Falls, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Helen Golubski, and several brothers and sisters.                       

Survivors inlude his sons, Jason Cassity and wife Tamara, of Purdy, Mo. and Aaron Cassity and wife Dawn, of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; daughter, Stacy Cassity, of Joplin, Mo.; two grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.  

He dedicated 34 years to the Mo. Department of Transportation as a State Inspector before retiring. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Buchanan Funeral Home, with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions have been suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
