After a full and wonderful life, Lee Ona Prier was welcomed into her heavenly home on March 20, 2026. She was at home, surrounded by her family, and lived 83 years marked by kindness, love, and warmth. She was always easygoing and never met a stranger.

Lee Ona was born on May 26, 1942, in Berryville, Arkansas, and was raised nearby in Grandview. She was the fifth child of Clarence “Erwin” and Gladys (Ashby) Foreman, and grew up alongside her siblings Hal, Lunan, Jack, Jerry, and Bill.

Lee Ona married John Winfred Prier in April 1961. In their 65 years of marriage, they were blessed with three children: Tari Lee, Teresa Jean, and Jeffery John. Together, they built a wonderful life.

Lee Ona gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was proud of her relationship with Jesus and spent much of her life serving as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher at both Blue Eye Baptist Church and Golden Baptist Church. She was known for taking her classes on fun adventures, such as roller skating and hiking.

Every Sunday after church, the entire family gathered at Lee Ona’s home for Sunday dinner. Her specialties included meatloaf, pot roast with carrots and potatoes, banana pudding, and marshmallow cream fudge.

Lee Ona spent her days greeting the people of Golden while working at the front desk of Ball & Prier Tire. She was known for her kindness to everyone, regardless of background or history, and was a caring servant to her community.

Lee Ona and Winfred enjoyed traveling and curating the Golden Pioneer Museum. They loved sharing their collection with visitors, and their passion took them across the United States in search of unique antiques and collectibles. They also cherished their annual elk hunting trips with friends and family to Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho.

Lee Ona’s happy place was spending time with her family at Roaring River—laughing along the riverbank, enjoying the sunshine, catching crawdads, and cooking campfire meals. She also loved taking her family to Pensacola Beach each summer, where she delighted in building intricate sandcastles and passing that simple joy on to her grandchildren.

Lee Ona is survived by her beloved husband, Winfred; her children, Tari (David) Underwood and Jeff (Mandi) Prier, who lovingly cared for her in her home over the past year; her grandchildren, Jacob Underwood, Lacy (Michael) Fox, Ross Underwood, Adam (Andrea) Prier, and Andrew Prier; and her five great-grandchildren, Rosalie, Maria, Anna, Sara Fox, and soon-to-arrive Estela LeeOna Prier; her brother, Jack Foreman; brother-in-law, Dan (Loris) Prier; sister-in-law Ann Foreman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Gladys Foreman; her daughter, Teresa Wood; her grandson, Austin Prier; her brothers, Hal (Sue) Foreman, Jerry Foreman, and Bill (Ina) Foreman; her sister, Lunan (Buck) Matthews; and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Foreman, Geraldine (Oran) Ball, and Fredaline (Bill, Wayne, Rollie) Gowen.

A celebration of Lee Ona’s life will be held on Sunday, March 29, at Blue Eye Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Munsey Cemetery along Roaring River.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
