Information, dialogue event in Eagle Rock

Sheriff to speak, host Q&A session at fire station

The Barry County Democrats are inviting the public to an open community information and public dialogue event featuring Barry County Sheriff Danny Boyd as guest speaker.

The event will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Eagle Rock Fire Station, located at 30625 Hwy. 86 in Eagle Rock.

Boyd will provide residents with an overview of his department, emerging trends and key challenges facing the Barry County Sheriff’s Office. This presentation aims to enhance transparency, strengthen community trust and foster open communication between elected and community leaders and the public, a Committee press release said.

Following his remarks, Boyd will host a question-and-answer session, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions on any topic related to public safety, law enforcement operations or community concerns.

“This is about discussing the future and having a non-partisan, open, civil conversation about things that impact us all,” said Ron Monnig, Committee chair. “We are all neighbors, and while we might disagree on some subjects, I believe we have much more in agreement than what divides us. Our goal is to make this an ongoing event with various public and civic leaders discussing current topics of interest throughout Barry County.”
