Jerry Francis Olson

Jerry Francis Olson, passed away at home near Golden, Mo., on December 23, 2025.
He was born May 8, 1939, in Crofton, Neb., to Sally (Ramold) and Clarence Olson who preceded him in death
Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Mary Lou (Cuba) five months prior, and his infant sister, Judy.
Survivors include his sons: Steven (Angie) of Omaha, Neb.; Thomas (Charlotte) of Boerne, Texas; David (Suzanne) of Conway, Ark.; and Edward (Sara) of Ozark, Mo; siblings, Joan Roche (Richard, dec.) of Butte, Mont., and James (Nancy) of Mishawaka, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Celeste of Chesterfield, Mo., Elaine (Chuck) of Marietta, Ga., Patrice of Athens, Ga., and Julie (Nick) of Humble, Texas; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Sister-in-law, Janet Brooks and Robert Cuba preceded him in death.
His early years were spent in Sioux City, where he attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and Bishop Heelan Catholic High School. He was active in scouting, the high school yearbook.
He began his college studies at Creighton University before joining the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in England.
He and Mary Lou were active members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and was recognized as a distinguished volunteer with being bestowed with the Silver Beaver award. He worked for USAA and continued his involvement in Scouts and the Knights of Columbus.
Upon retirement, Jerry and Mary Lou moved to Southwest Missouri, building a home on Table Rock Lake near Golden.
A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Arrangements are currently pending. Jerry and Mary Lou will be interred together at Resurrection Cemetery in Omaha.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
