Cassville Wildcat Pride wins at Pitt State Homecoming Parade

The Cassville Wildcat Pride Marching Band kicked off its competitive season with a resounding victory at the Pittsburg State University Homecoming Parade held on Oct. 11.

The event marked the first of three marching competitions the band will participate in this October.

Competing against several high school bands, the Wildcat Pride Marching Band earned 1st Place in its division, impressing judges with its musical precision and spirited performance.

One judge remarked, “The students’ enjoyment of the music was evident, and they played with accuracy and feeling.”

After the competition, the Cassville band members had the opportunity to observe a rehearsal by Pittsburg State’s own marching band, The Pride of the Plains. Joseph Wilson, director of the university band, spoke to the Cassville students, sharing insights into the school’s music program and highlighting unique aspects of campus life.

The Wildcat Pride’s next appearances include performances at the Carthage Maple Leaf Festival Parade, Cassville High School Football Senior Night, and Missouri Southern State University’s Homecoming Parade.

‘With their season off to a strong start, the Cassville Wildcat Pride Marching Band continues to showcase talent, dedication, and school spirit wherever they compete,’ a band press release said.
