Freda Belle Ray

Freda Belle Ray, 89, of Aurora, Mo. passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Willard Care Center in Willard, Mo.

She was born December 1, 1935, in Cassville, Mo., the daughter of Loren and Velma (Starkey) Smith, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Clinton Ray Padgett, and her husband James Leon Ray; three sisters, Glenna Smith, Naomi Ray and Geneva Dutton; one brother, Darrel Smith; two brothers-in-law, Rodney Dutton and Duane Stockton; two sons-in-law, Randy Pace and Larry Atchison and two sistersin- law, Barbara Smith and Vera Smith.

Survivors include her son, Gene Padgett and his wife Meliah of Kansas City, Kan.; three daughters, Gaylene Hart and her husband Jim of Independence, Mo., Mary Ostermeier and her husband Don of Vista, Calif., and Bonnie Atchison of Shawnee, Kan.; one stepson, Steven Ray of Aurora, Mo.; two step-daughters, Teresa Andrus and her husband Don of Battlefield, Mo. and Pamela Pace of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Dennis Smith and his wife Shirley of N.C., and Randall Smith of Texas; Two sisters, Maxine Stockton of Cassville, Mo. and Willadean Lane and her husband Kenneth of Springfield, Mo.; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She received her education in Cassville where she graduated from high school. She was a member of Faith Full Gospel Church in Aurora, Mo.

Services were held Monday June 9, 2025 at Faith Full Gospel Church in Aurora, Mo. under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Rex Mooneyham conducted the services. Burial was at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, Mo.
