8 injured in Exeter wreck

Eight individuals, including five juveniles, were injured on Friday in a wreck at 3:20 p.m. on Highway 76, one mile east of Exeter.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Samantha Slavens-Mason, 30, of Cassville, was driving a 2015 Ford Flex southbound when her vehicle failed to yield to an eastbound 2010 Infiniti QX56, being driven by Ashley Easter, 35, of Cassville. Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Mason and Easter both suffered serious injuries. Mason was transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark., and Easter was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Two passengers in Mason’s vehicle suffered minor injuries. William Mason, age unknown, and a 11-yearold male, both of Cassville, were transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark.

Four juvenile passengers in Easter’s vehicle, all from Cassville, suffered minor injuries. A 5-year-old female, 7-year-old male, 10-year-old male and 11-year-old female were all transported to Cox Monett Hospital.

Mason was not wearing a safety device, and the other seven involved in the crash were. Both vehicles were totaled.
