Company earns 3rd accreditation

Lakeside Home Watch & Property Solutions in Shell Knob has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the third year.

The NHWA was formed in 2009 to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada.

Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues, which means that it is a service that “keeps an eye on things” at a vacation or primary home while the owner is not in residence. All principals of NHWA Accredited Member companies are background-checked, insured, and bonded.

Owner Rusty Rickard has lifelong ties to Shell Knob and has served the area in various capacities in both public service and private business.

Rusty is a Shell Knob native and has lived in the area for 40 years. He is very well known in the community. At the age of 23, Rusty became a business owner in the community; that business is still operational today.

He serves as fire chief of the Central Crossing Fire District, has held positions on multiple boards throughout the community and has held an honorary reserve commission with the local sheriff’s office.

Having been born and raised in the area gives Rickard a wide knowledge, combined with his nearly 25 years’ experience in the fire service. He found there was a serious need for a Home Watch service in his area.

Rickard heard friends and property owners saying things like, “Can you keep an eye on my house while I’m away?” or, “We don’t know or trust the neighbors,” or, “I’m worried about my house after that crazy storm last night.”

That’s where Lakeside Home Watch & Property Solutions came in. Rickard created the business and works hard to fill the needs of lake, vacation, and second homeowners and give them peace of mind.
