Two men were injured and the driver arrested following a wreck at 8:15 p.m. Friday on Highway 76, four miles east of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Sheridan Ponder, 27, of Aurora, was driving a 1989 Pontiac 6000 eastbound when his vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.

Sheridan suffered minor injuries and sought his own treatment, and a passenger in the vehicle, Michael Corn, 20, of Cassville, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Neither of the occupants were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.

According to a Patrol arrest report, Ponder was arrested at 9 p.m. and charged with felony driving while intoxicated — drugs, careless and imprudent driving involving a traffic crash and no seat belt. He was placed on a 12-hour hold and was not listed on the Barry County inmate roster on Monday.
