JoAnna Kathrine Peters, 68, of Wheaton, Mo. passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Joplin in Joplin, Mo.

She was born January 14, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of John W. and Josephine (Tidwell) Carter, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, John Carter, Steven Carter and Timothy Carter and one sister, Susan Hancock.

Survivors include her husband, James Peters; two daughters, Alyssa Carney and her husband Kore of Wheaton, Mo. and Michelle Wright and her husband Michael of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Theodore Carter and his wife Joyce of Cassville, Mo.; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She attended school in Watsonville, Calif., graduating from Watsonville High School in 1973. She and James moved from Watsonville, California to Wheaton, Missouri in 1992. JoAnna was employed by the Walmart Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas as a upc coordinator for several years.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
