Shell Knob man drowns in Table Rock

62-year-old fisherman presumed to have fallen from boat

A Shell Knob man died in Table Rock Lake on Monday, presumed to have fallen in the water from his fishing boat at about 6 a.m.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Harry Chamberlain, 62, of Shell Knob, was fishing in a 2022 Sun Dolphin 12-foot utility boat and presumed to have fallen over the side of his boat. After troopers searched the area, Chamberlain was located at 10:55 a.m. on Tuesday.

He was pronounced dead by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen at the recovery scene.

Chamberlain was not wearing a safety device. This is the fourth drowning of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
