Barry County Fair Board hosts 11th annual event

The Barry County Fair Board has announced the 2023 dates and exhibits, set to host the annual fair on Saturday in Butterfield.

The Circle M Cattle Company has donated the use of its barn this year for the fair. The Barry County Fair is a non-profit organization that works closely with the community and local schools to promote agriculture with the younger generation.

The fair helps to get youth involved, but it also aims to share agriculture with the public.

“The fair board has worked diligently to raise money and expand the fair; we hope to continue to grow and get more kids involved,” said Clay Blankenship, Barry County Fair Board president.

This is the eleventh consecutive year of the Barry County Fair. It is welcome to any youth ages 8-21 involved in 4H or FFA organizations exhibiting livestock.

Barry County youth who are eligible to sell in the Livestock Premium Sale must reside in Barry County. The Barry County Fair Board will take entries up until the start of the fair on Saturday.

Commercial booth space is also available for vendors at the fair for a $20 fee.

“Make plans to come out and visit the vendors and see the livestock exhibited by the local youth,” a Fair Board press release said. “We appreciate the support of our sponsors. We could not put on the fair without their continued support.”
