Mail truck struck while delivering

A Seligman mailman was injured on Friday in a wreck at 12:25 p.m. on Highway 37, one mile north of Seligman.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Bobby Stephens, 57, of Seligman, was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee southbound and was stopped in the roadway delivering mail when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2022 Peterbilt, being driven by Elden Johnson, 77, of London, Ark.

Stephens suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. Johnson was not injured.

Both involved were wearing safety devices. The Jeep sustained extensive damage, and the Peterbilt sustained moderate damage.
