Family Easter Event in Cassville Friday

The Crowder Cassville Student Nursing Association will host a Family Easter Event on Friday from 4:308 p.m. at the Crowder Community Building, located at 4020 N. Main St. in Cassville. The event will feature egg and sack races, egg dyeing, movies, coloring, Easter egg hunts, games and more. Admission is $5 per family.

Barn at Bear Ridge hosting BBQ Night

The Barn at Bear Ridge and Red Rock Barbeque will host BBQ, Booze & Beats on Saturday. Doors open at 5 p.m. with music by 221 Band and Chubb Creek Bait Band from 8 p.m. to midnight. The pitstyle barbecue will offer pulled pork, brisket and Reuben sandwiches, with sides of baked beans, coleslaw and chips.

Egg hunt scheduled at Southwest

A Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 10 a,.m. on Saturday at the Southwest High School track, located at 529 E. Pineville Road in Washburn. Prizes will be given in age divisions 1-4 years, 5-8 years and 9-13 years. People may also bring their own cameras for photos with the Easter Bunny. The event is sponsored by Mission Baptist Church in Washburn.

2023 Southwest Yearbook Order Forms Available

Order forms are now available for the 2023 Southwest yearbook now. The cost is $25 and the deadline to order is May 31. There is an additional charge for adding name stamping and icons. The book features 144 pages and is delivered in August when the 2023-2024 school year begins.

Exeter announces pre-K and kindergarten screening dates

Exeter elementary has announced early childhood preschool, preschool and kindergarten screening dates as April 13-14. Parents of students who need to enroll for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year can call the elementary office at 417-835-2922, ext. 1, to sign up for a time to come in for screening. Parents and guardians will need to bring the student’s immunization record, birth certificate and proof of residence in the district when they come for screening.

Cassville Branch Library activities scheduled

This week’s activities at the Cassville Branch Library include: Thursday, Preschool Storytime at 10 a.m., sign-up required, and Toastmasters at 6 p.m.; Friday, Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m.; Tuesday, free Homeschool Enrichment at 10 a.m., sign-up required.

Library activities scheduled in Eagle Rock

On April 1, the Friends of the Library will host its annual Easter Event with Egg Hunt starting at 1 p.m. and special guest Mr. E. Bunny. On April, 5, there will be “Storytime in the Library” with a story and craft at 10 a.m. Registration is required. The Eagle Rock Branch Library is located at 27824 Hwy. 76 in Eagle Rock. General Municipal Election on April 4

The Barry County Clerk’s Office in Cassville will be open April 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for absentee voting for the General Election. Absentee voting in person continues through April 3 at the Clerk’s Office. No-excuse voting began March 21. A Photo ID must be presented to vote. Anyone who has moved or had had an address change needs to contact the Clerk’s Office or come in and update that information before Election Day. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
