Preschool, Kinder Academy screening information released

Preschool screening will be held March 28 and March 30. Screenings are open to 3- and 4-yearold children living in the Cassville School District. Screenings will be held on campus at Cassville R-IV in the W.I.L.D. Academy, located on Kid Cat Drive. Please park in the gravel parking lot and cross the street. Plan for a 30-45 minute appointment. Call 417-847-2445 to schedule a child’s screening. Appointments will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Screening results will be used to determine eligibility for the Cassville R-IV School District’s preschool program. Kinder Academy and Kindergarten screenings will be March 27 and March 29. Screenings are open to children that are 5 years old by July 31 living in the Cassville school district. Cassville Branch Library activities scheduled

Activities at the Cassville Branch Library this week include: Thursday, Preschool Storytime at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., sign-up required, and Toastmasters at 6 p.m.; Friday, Chair Yoga/QiGong at 9 a.m., and After the Bell @ CBL Tween Painting Panda Bear at 3:45 p.m. with pre-registration required; Monday, Chair Yoga/ QiGong at 9 a.m., and free Yoga with Tara at 5 p.m., sign-up required; and Tuesday, free Homeschool Enrichment at 10 a.m., sign-up required.

Activities to be held in Eagle Rock, Shell Knob

On Saturday from 7-10 a.m., the Eagle Rock-Golden-Mano Fire Department will host a Fireman’s Breakfast at Station No. 1. On Tuesday, the Eagle Rock Community association will host a coffee club from 7-9 a.m. The Eagle Rock Branch Library will host Preschool Storytime on March 1 at 10 a.m. It is requested to sign up so enough supplies are on hand. On March 3, the Shell Knob Branch Library will host Friday Morning Grind from 9-11 a.m., where participants can enjoy coffee, snacks, conversation and more.

Voter registration deadline upcoming

The last day to register to vote is March 8 for those who are not current registered voters of Barry County and who wish to vote in the April 4 General Municipal Election. People may register to vote at the County Clerk’s Office; the Monett Chamber of Commerce; or the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce. Voters should notify the Office if they have moved and have not updated their address, or had a name change. Photo ID is required to vote in the April General Municipal Election. Absentee voting starts Tuesday at the Barry County Clerk’s Office in Cassville, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two-week in-person, no excuse absentee voting begins March 21. If unable to vote in person, a voter may send a written request to the office of: Joyce Ennis, 700 Main St. Suite 2, Cassville, MO 65625, or fax to: 417-847-5311. The office will need: name, physical address, mailing address, date of birth, last four digits of Social Security number, phone number, reason for voting absentee and signature. Those who live in the Shell Knob or Monett area may go to the Shell Knob Chamber or Monett Chamber Office and fill out the absentee application, which they will fax to the Barry County Clerk’s office. Absentee applications are also available at sos.mo.gov. The last day to request an absentee ballot is March 22. OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 417662-3612.
