Public forum being held on land-applied fertilizer

A public forum, hosted by the Truman Council, will be held on Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Newton County Fair Building, located at 700 Field St. in Neosho. Snacks will be provided. People may contract Carrie Campbell with questions at ccampbell@hstcc.org. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the industrial waste being land-applied in southwest Missouri.

‘All That Jazz’ concert set for Feb. 9

The Cassville Wildcat Band Boosters proudly present a music-filled evening provided by the high school and middle school jazz bands on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m at the FEMA Event Center. Tickets are $10 each prepaid, $15 at the door and $100 for a table of eight seats, which included cupcakes and drinks. Tickets may be purchased at the Cassville High School office or Tomblin’s Jewelry and must be presented on performance night.

Groundbreaking for jail, health department scheduled

Groundbreaking for the Barry County Health Department and the Barry County jail will be held Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m.

OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit. org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 417-662-3612.

Waste Management District meeting set

The Southwest Missouri Waste Management District N will hold its monthly Executive Board Meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday at Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett. This meeting is open to the public. A teleconference number will also be available for this meeting. People may contact the district office at 417-236-9012 or 417-342-6306 prior to the day of the meeting for the call-in number and passcode.
