Pesticide Applicator Training on Jan. 26

A Pesticide Applicator Training will be held Jan. 26 at Cassville High School’s Agriculture Department. The training provides certification to obtain a Missouri Private Pesticide Applicators License for agricultural producers and will also count for recertification requirements by the state. The training will not certify for commercial applicator licenses. Participants must be 18 years or older. The training will last 2.5-3 hours. Preregistration is required, and people may call 417-847-3161 or register online. The Ag department is located directly behind the high school. Take Main/Hwy Y on north side of Cassville to Partridge Street and turn right, then turn left at the first drive going behind the High School. Barry County budget hearing set for Jan. 19

Barry County will hold the 2023 budget hearing on Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. in the Commission Room in the Barry County Courthouse, located at 700 Main St. in Cassville.

Property assessment lists mailed

Sherry L. Smith, Barry County Assessor; has announced that the 2023 Personal Property and Business Assessment lists were mailed out on Jan. 4, 2023. Those who received an assessment list but have not yet filed online using the “Online Filing Pin Number,” displayed on the list, or filled it out and returned it by mail or in person, please do so immediately to avoid a late assessment penalty. Those who owned personal property or business equipment on Jan. 1, 2023, and did not receive an assessment list, or those who are a new resident to Barry County, should call the Assessor’s Personal Property office immediately at 417-847-2613, to request assistance in being properly assessed. You can assess online, directly over the telephone with one of the office staff, or feel free to drop by the personal property office to assess in person. All Personal and Business equipment Assessment lists must be postmarked by March 31, 2023, to avoid a late assessment penalty.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 417662-3612.
