Shell Knob woman injured in crash

A Shell Knob woman was injured on Saturday in a wreck at 9:50 p.m. on Highway 39 in Shell Knob.

According to a Missouri State Highway patrol report, a 16-year-old male, of Pierce City, was driving a 2015 BMW X5 northbound and struck the rear of a 2012 Kia Optima, being driven by Haylie Rickard, 19, of Shell Knob, as it was waiting to make a left-hand turn.

Rickard suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. The Pierce City teenager was not injured.

Rickard was not wearing a safety device, and the other teenage driver was. Both vehicles were totaled.
