This season, the Cassville Wildcat Football team will honor the memory of John Sullivan by wearing a gold "JS" sticker on the backs of their helmets. Sullivan was a lifelong contributor to Cassville Football. From his playing days in the 1960s, to the many Thursday night team meals he provided, and his years spent on the sidelines keeping stats, Sullivan was a huge part of not only the football program but the entire Cassville community. "We will never be able to thank John and his wife, Janet, enough for all they have done," a football program press release said. :John's presence is deeply missed throughout our community, but perhaps most of all, we'll miss that unforgettable 'John Sullivan chuckle.'" At the Aug. 28 home football game against Monett, a special moment was taken prior to the game to honor the family of Jill & Michael LeCompte. “Jill & Michael devoted many years to serving Wildcat Nation,” a school press release said. “Their love for Cassville High School, its students, and the Cassville community was evident in all they did. Though they are no longer with us, their dedication and Wildcat spirit will continue to live on. Each time the Wildcat Flag is raised and waved, may it serve as a reminder of the lasting impact they made and the many lives they touched.” The LeCompte family, pictured, presented Whitney and Wilbur with a special gift, a new rally flag, in loving memory of Jill and Michael.
