Stephan Paul “Steve “Schaeg, 70, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at his home in Shell Knob, Mo.

He was born on December 22, 1955, to Clifford and Margie (Grimmert) Schaeg, who preceded him in death. 

Also preceding him in death were his dear sister, Donna Kaye Schaeg and brother-in-law, John Rau. 

Survivors include his sister, Susan Rau; nephew, John Rau II; an uncle, Jim (Tim) Kierns; many cousins with a special mention to Gene and Debra O’Halloran who had a special connection with him over the years, and numerous friends from school, work, and in the St. Louis area and Shell Knob.

He was raised in Chesterfield and then Ballwin, Mo. He had many school friends from both parochial and public schools. 

His greatest adventure was working the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. While living in Chicago, Ill., he became a sales marketing representative for exhibit and trade shows. He continued in that line of business upon his return to St. Louis. A few years ago, he retired to Shell Knob/Table Rock Lake.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
