Steven R. “Russ” Thomas, 75, of Exeter, Mo. passed away, Friday, August 21, 2026 at Cassville Health Care Center in Cassville, Mo.

He was born January 16, 1951, in Wheaton, Mo., the son of Earl Eston and Velma (Ridenour) Thomas, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were his brother, Jarett Thomas and a niece, Noveta Thomas.

Survivors include his sister, Earlene Dunn of Monett, Mo.; sister-in-law, Barbara Thomas of Purdy, Mo.; nephews, Johnny Thomas and wife Becky of Crane, Mo. and Jerry Thomas and wife Rhonda of Purdy, Mo. and niece, Donna Ridenour of Monett, Mo.

He lived his entire life in the Wheaton and Ridgley, Mo., areas and attended school in Wheaton. 

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
