Julius “Bill” Garcia Jr.

Julius “Bill” Garcia Jr., 81, of Shell Knob, Mo., passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Mo. Veterans Home in Mount Vernon, Mo.

He was born on December 15, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo., to Julius and Juanita (Fernandez) Garcia, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Kathy Gotsh.

Survivors include one son, Julius Garcia III of Greenville, Tenn.; one daughter, Kathy Bernsen of Shell Knob, Mo.; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother Jim Garcia of St. Louis.

He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to serving others as a police officer for St. Louis County, where he dedicated many years to protecting his community. 

He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob, Mo.

He was also a devoted member of Central Crossing Masonic Lodge #674 and the Shell Knob Shrine Club. 

Memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis and entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Masonic Service will be held July 27, 2026, at 7:00 pm at White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Mo.
