George Steven “Steve” Sanchez, 71, of Reeds Spring, Mo. passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home.

He was born January 27, 1955 in Denver, Colo., the son of George David and Viola (Valdez) Sanchez, who preceded him in death. 

Also preceding him in death was a brother, Dale Sanchez.

Survivors his son, Aaryn Sanchez and wife Brandy of Greeley, Colo.; daughter, Meleah Goodman and husband Nate of Denver, Colo.; brother, Mike Valdez of Denver, Colo., twin sisters, Yvonne Herrera and husband Gilbert of Castle Rock, Colo. and Lavonne Sanchez of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; five grandchildren and his true love, Michelle Sanchez.

He was raised in Denver, Colo., where he attended school and graduated from Denver North High School. He proudly served his community as a firefighter with the Denver Fire Department for 37 years, dedicating his life to helping others before his retirement.

He made his home in Reeds Spring, Mo., for the past two and a half years, having relocated from Colo. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Reeds Spring.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
