Cassville Fishing Club members Deagan Gross and Colton Yockey competed in the third and final qualifier of the Missouri B.A.S.S. Nation Youth Tournament held March 15 at Pomme de Terre Lake. Despite extremely challenging conditions, the Cassville duo brought in a total weight of 7.42 pounds, earning third place in the tournament. Anglers faced rapidly changing weather throughout the day, including a 30-degree temperature drop, winds of 35 miles per hour and three-foot whitecaps on the lake. Gross and Yockey secured their final two keeper bass in the last two hours of the tournament, helping them finish strong in the standings. With the third-place finish, the pair also maintained their lead in the overall Missouri B.A.S.S. Nation Youth points standings, earning them a berth to compete at the National Championship on Kentucky Lake later this year. Contributed photo
