Bill and Diane Shiveley hug their sons, Greg Shiveley, of St. Louis, and Steve Shiveley, of Monett, after the two surprised their parents by coming to the First Friday Coffee at First State Bank of the Ozarks on Feb. 6, where Bill Shiveley was presented with the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Kyle Troutman/[email protected] Bill Shiveley thanks those in attendance after he was presented with the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the First Friday Coffee at First State Bank of the Ozarks on Feb. 6. Shiveley spent 42 years with the Barry Electric Cooperative and was mayor of Cassville for 13 years. He also sevred nearly 30 years on the First State Bank Board, more than 20 years on the South Barry County Hospital District Board and 11 years on Mercy’s Midwest Region Board. Shiveley is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and an active volunteer with the Chamber, especially maintaining Christmas lights in town and the Nativity scene on cemetery hill.
