Betty Marion Phoenix, 91, of Shell Knob, Mo. passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home.

She was born July 23, 1934, in Big Timber, Mont., the daughter of Milton and Donna (Chapel) Willard, who preceded her in death.

Also Preceding her in death was her husband, Billy Joe Phoenix; grandparents; daughter, Jemell Marion Ardoin and a great grandchild, Austin Troy Hooks.

Survivors include her daughter, Shawn Tandy of Shell Knob, Mo.; stepson, David Walz, Sr. and wife Jan of Alaska; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She attended school in Auburn, Wash., later attending college where she attained an associate degree. She owned and operated Professional Fill In’s, a placement agency in the dental field in San Diego, Calif. She was a sorority member and was recognized five years in a row in the Who’s Who Among the Women of Calif. She served as a Girl Scout leader, runway coach, and taught charm school. She was currently a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
