The Cassville Board of Education has selected Kaylyn Whitham and Calista Burns as the recipients of the 2025 Board of Education Scholarships. Whitham teaches first grade at Eunice Thomas Elementary. She is currently pursuing her second masters degree, studying curriculum and instruction at Missouri Southern State University. Burns is a third grade teacher at Cassville Intermediate. She is working to obtain a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Missouri Southern State University, as well. The Board of Education Scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $2,500 to recognize two full-time certified teachers in the Cassville district that exhibit exemplary performance and to encourage educational opportunities and staff development. Scholarships must be used to further educational pursuits and should be in the area of certification or teaching field.
