Helen Ruth Brooks, 91, of Exeter, Mo. passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Aspire Senior Living Roaring River in Cassville, Mo.

She was born August 7, 1934 in Monroe, La., the daughter of Fred and Luella (Senette) Johnson, who preceded her in death. 

Also preceding her in death were sons, Michael Benbo and Mitchell Triche; daughter, Monica Johnson; a brother and a sister.

Survivors include her son, Mark Brooks and wife Cheryl of Chino Hills, Calif., and daughter, Mona Scott and husband Phillip of Exeter, Mo.

She grew up and attended school in Los Angeles, Calif., where she graduated from Jordan High School. She was employed at a manufacturing company in Los Angeles for several years before relocating to Exeter. 

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Bashan Hill Church in Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Lloyd Dodd will conduct the services. Burial will be at Bashan Hill Cemetery in Exeter, Mo.
