Woman charged with terroristic threatening
A Cassville woman is facing a felony charge in Lawrence County for allegedly threatening arson and assault.
Ashley Shockley, 36, of Cassville, is charged with second-degree terroristic threatening.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Thomas Taylor, deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office, on Aug. 17, he received a call from Shockley at the jail, during which she allegedly made threats to “burn the jail to the ground and find [Taylor] outside and take care of [him].”
A warrant for Shockley’s arrest was issued on Aug. 27, and she was arrested and booked into the Lawrence County Jail on Sept. 3 on a $5,000 bond.
Shockley has waived formal arraignment, and a bond hearing is set for Thursday at 9 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Matthew Kasper.
Shockley has multiple criminal charges dating back to 2010. She is currently on supervised probation for pleading guilty to felony stealing in April in Jefferson City in Cole County in 2024; possession of a controlled substance in Cole County in 2023; resisting arrest in Cole County in 2023. Probation violation warrants were issued on Aug. 20 in all three of those cases.
Other charges against Shockley since 2002 include misdemeanor domestic assault, misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card.
She was also incarcerated for four years following pleading guilty in 2019 to second-degree domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
