$4K in grants awarded to teachers

Six grants totaling nearly $4,000 from the Cassville Education Fund were awarded to teachers on May 15 at the Cassville Performing Arts Center.

Patty Ewing received $455 for social studies materials for third-grade students.

Andrew Hoskins received $545 for graphic novels about the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Korean War and the Vietnam War for high school American History and Government classes.

Tammy Wilson was awarded $600 for a summer school field trip to an I-Max documentary film.

Janet Yunk, Julie Chappell, Krystal Barnes, Celeste Wilmot and Jenna Shaffer were presented with a check for $628 for IXL incentives for grades 6-8. They also received $629 for in-class libraries for grades 6-8 English and Language Arts students.

Jill Poulson was given $1,140 for document cameras for all four high school math classrooms.

Established in 2010 by community volunteers, the Cassville Education Fund is a permanent endowment fund benefiting Cassville R-IV school district academic programs. Grants from the fund are awarded annually. More than $40,000 in grants has been awarded to Cassville teachers in the past 15 years.
