Monett High School graduation will be held May 9 at Burl Fowler Stadium at 7 p.m.

Kids Fishing Day on May 31

SWMO Wild Game Feed will host the Kids Fishing Day at Monett City Park, just north of Monett YMCA, on May 31 starting at 8 a.m. There will be prizes and a grand giveaway for youth participants. Hot dogs, chips, and water will be provided by Walmart, and the Monett YMCA pool will be available for children to swim for free after the event. Donations are welcome, and all proceeds will benefit Children’s Miracle Network.

Never Lose Heart 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on May 31

The Monett Area YMCA will host the Never Lose Heart 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on May 31 beginning at 8 a.m. at the YMCA, located at 115 S. Lincoln Ave. in Monett. Whether a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun leisurely walk, the YMCA, in partnership with Fauna’s Natural Market, is hosting the event for all. Proceeds go to benefit the American Heart Association and the YMCA. The 5K is a timed event, with participants receiving a unique T-shirt, and medals will be awarded to the top three winners of each age division. First on Front coming June 6

The 1st On Front summer concert series, presented by 1st State Bank, will continue at the Monett Downtown Pavilion on June 6 for the second of three concerts this summer. The event is from 6-9 p.m. and is free to the public. There will be live music from local artists, as well as food trucks. The July event will be on July 11, the 1st On Front Pop Up at Cassville South Park in Cassville.

 Democratic Central Committee meeting May 13

The Barry County Democratic Central Committee will meet on May 13 at the Cassville Branch Library, located at 301 West 17th St. in Cassville.

Art Market on Broadway Set for June 6–7

Stroll into the event center at the Monett Historical Society and Museum in Monett for an Art Market on Broadway. This event will feature local artists Tina Arnall and Becky Golubski on June 6, from 4-8 p.m., and June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Visitors can browse and purchase original artwork, prints, mugs, and more. A portion of sales will benefit the museum. Light refreshments will be served and attendees can enter a grand giveaway. This family-friendly event coincides with 1st on Front (Friday, 6-9 p.m.) and the Monett Area Farmer’s Market (Saturday, 9 a.m.–noon). The event center is located at 418 East Broadway.
