Cassville trio qualify for XC state

The Cassville boys and girls cross country teams will send three of their members to the 50th MSHSAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

At the district race in Plato, junior Kayli Anderson finished 18th in 22:30, and senior Jadyn Williams was 20th in 22:34. For the boys, sophomore Trever Garnett took 21st in 18:08.

All three are recognized as All-District runners, and all three have state experience.

Williams is taking her third trip to Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia on Saturday, starting at 9:45 a.m. She qualified with the team as a sophomore and has qualified individually in her junior and senior years. Her best finish was last year at 39th.

Anderson qualified with the team as a freshman, finishing 64th, and this year individually as a junior, and Garnett has qualified individually in his freshman and sophomore years.
