A Cassville man was injured in a wreck on Thursday at 1:20 p.m. on Highway 248, five miles west of Jenkins.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jesse Smith, 20, of Cassville, was driving a 2004 Kia Sorrento eastbound when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway and overturned, ejecting Smith from the vehicle.

Smith suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

He was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
