Sheriff’s Office seeking leads in firearms theft

The Barry County Sheriff’s Office is seeing information relating to a theft of multiple firearms from a local business.

According to a press release from the Office, several pistols and AR-style rifles were stolen from Three Corners Firearms in Washburn on Nov. 24.

“On Dec. 1, we were notified that a male subject had been trying to sell some of the firearms at Ozark Beverage Company convenience store on E Highway in McDonald County,” the release said. “The caller gave the information on one of the firearms to the Bentonville, Ark., Police Department, and they confirmed one was stolen in connection to the gun shop. The caller did not want to get involved, so no times or information was obtained.

“ If you were at Ozark Beverage Company this last week or you were approached anywhere else by a suspicious person in our area trying to sell firearms, we’d love to hear from you. If you did happen to purchase one of the firearms, we would love to know, as well, and you are not in trouble for purchasing the firearm (get Involved). anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 417-8476556.
