Hahn memorial, divers’ recognition on Saturday

The Eric Lee Hahn Memorial and KISS Rebreathers Dive Team Recognition Event will be held on Saturday at 5 p.m., at the Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center in Roaring River State Park. The Hahns will share stories of their son for the benefit of the Roaring River community, and a new map of the Roaring River spring cave will be presented and dedicated. A documentary about the divers will also be shown.

Cassville UMC hosting Trunk or Treat

The Cassville United Methodist Church will host a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 29 from 4-6 p.m. at the church, located at 601 Gravel St. in Cassville. Holiday Craft Fair on Nov. 11

The Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society will host the Second Annual Holiday Craft Fair, in support of the Bayless/Salyer house, on Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendor spaces are available. Southwest NHS sponsors Pumpkin Carving Contest

The Southwest National Honor Society is hosting a pumpkin decorating/carving contest for pre-K to 4th-grade students in late October. The contest will have five categories, including scary/monster, Barbie and/or Taylor Swift, animal, funny/goofy and sporty/superhero. Pumpkins can be turned in as early as Oct 27. The contest judging will be held in the elementary main hallway on Oct. 31. Cassville Health Care and Rehab selling chili

Cassville Health Care and Rehab invites locals to stay warm on a possibly chilly Friday with a bowl of chili and a drink for $5. The fundraiser is from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 13. Proceeds will benefit the employee Christmas party.

Southwest Student Council sponsors Blood Drive Oct. 17

Southwest Student Council and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks are sponsoring a blood drive at the high school in Washburn on Tuesday. The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and donors will receive a free Kansas City Chiefs T-shirt and can enter for two tickets to a future game. Waste management district meeting

The Southwest Missouri Waste Management District N will hold its monthly Executive Board meeting at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday at Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett. This meeting is open to the public. MU hosting Open House Thursday

The University of Missouri Extension in Barry County will host an Open House on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MU office in the Barry County Courthouse at 700 Main St., Suite 4, in Cassville.

Senior Center to host Bazaar

The Cassville Senior Center is seeking arts and crafts vendors for a Holiday Craft Bazaar, scheduled for Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Center, located at 1111 Fair St. in Cassville. The cost is $25 per table, and proceeds benefit the Center. Table availability is limited, and people may register at the Cassville Senior Center and pay in person or mail the registration and payment to the Center. Cassville Farmers’ Market open twice per week

The Cassville Farmers’ Market is open for the season, running twice a week on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. across from Security Bank and Saturdays on the Cassville Square from 8 a.m. to noon. Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market open

The Old Church Gallery Farmers’ Market runs every Thursday from 8-11 a.m. The Market offers fresh produce, eggs, jellies, relishes, baked goods, cut flowers, handmade crafts and more. OATS rides available in Barry County

OATS Transit offers regular transportation services for the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Please call the local OATS Transit office at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287 to schedule a ride or find out about services in the Barry County area. People may also visit the OATS website at oatstransit.org to view local schedules under “Bus Schedules,” then click on the county of service. OATS offices will be closed, and regular routes will not be running on Feb. 20 for Presidents’ Day. Please keep this in mind as trips are scheduled near these holidays. OATS Transit is hiring drivers statewide to can continue serving riders. Openings are listed on the OATS website.

Seligman dances ongoing each Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce country dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center are every Saturday from 7-10 p.m. No alcohol is allowed. Admission is $10 per person, and 18-and-under are free. There is a potluck, 50-50 drawing and door prizes. For more information, people may call 479-903-3640.
